What Sets Eastex Apart from Other Financial Institutions?
In 1955 Eastex Credit Union was organized by a group of employees of the Southeast Texas Pulp and Paper Company so the employees would have a place to save and borrow at reasonable interest rates.
Although we offer many of the same services as other types of financial institutions, credit unions are unique in the financial world. Credit unions are not for profit financial cooperatives. This means more of its profits are returned to the members rather than to stockholders. It also means you have a voice and a vote in the operations of your credit union. We are a democracy.
